I decided to update my WordPress Blog to the current version 3.2.1 and also work on archiving some of the tweets of mine under the handle @chrisdunlevy. I used a plugin named “Ozh’ Tweet Archiver” it was really easy to setup. you can see the results on my sister site, http://www.dunlevy.us, if you are so inclined.
Here are some items you will want to consider. before downloading and installing this plugin create a specific user and a category to assign the imported tweets to.
In my case I created a user named ChrisDunlevy and a category named @chrisdunlevy. You definitely want to do this before hand or you will be looking for away to mass change the assigned user or update the category at a future date. Overall it was a pretty easy operation.
I imported about a 1,000 tweets and it took less than a couple of minutes.
You can set the frequency of how often it will download the newest tweets, I set mine to twice daily. Daily is the longest or you could go tweet extreme and set it to every 5 minutes. If you need that kind of frequency you should probably give up now. I assure you, just because you go into a room and scream at the top of your lungs, doesn’t mean anybody is listening.
Anyway the plugin fills a specific need that you may or may not find relevant. it successfully accomplished one of my goals but you may not have the same results.
